I’m not sure if I believe in the whole “Fake It Till U Make It” mentality. I mean, I get it and have probably done it a few times in my life but, deep down, I don’t know if I like it. I feel like you have to have at least a small idea of what you’re doing to get somewhere. Maybe not a full idea but I don’t think fully faking it will get you to the top. Maybe that’s just me and maybe this is a piss poor way of looking at things but I believe in hard work and grinding rather than faking it. This little rant is brought to you by the ADHD mind of Girl at the Rock Shows set off by the title of this new song from Jimmy Climbs. It has nothing to do with this single and, regardless of if you’re with me on this train of thought or not, I hope you take the time to check out this track.

Jimmy Climbs is the brainchild of San Diego-based James Owen. James is the constant of this project with a cast of always evolving musicians behind him. Jimmy Climbs has been around since 2021 and already has two full length albums out there. This song is proof that there is no stopping this act. “Fake It Till U Make It” is full of the perfect amount of swagger. It’s a stompy and muddy kind of song that will both make you want to stomp your feet while also just sitting back and taking in your life and all of it’s glory. I love how this song brings such a positive and resilient energy as you listen to it but also has this kind of drive behind it that will remind you to keep going and not let up. Whether you need a little spark of inspiration and motivation or are ready to sit back and breathe as you look back at everything you’ve accomplished today, this week, this month, this year, or even this lifetime, “Fake It Till U Make It” is the song for you.
