Girl at the Rock Shows

I got nothing for you right now. My day is remaining oddly calm for a manic Friday but I’m not complaining. I’m getting a lot of work done and somehow finding time to check out new music which is what makes me truly happy on a Friday so let’s keep it up and check out another new song.

“Soul Sucker” is a nu-metal song through and through. I don’t know when or why nu-metal got kind of a bad stigma in the scene but, even if you’re a person who doesn’t like nu-metal or think it’s a bit of a joke, I highly suggest you check out this song. THE CITY and J-Figure bring the genre to life with an insane amount of grit, focus, and energy throughout this three minute and fifteen-second song. There are moments that have an almost EDM influence behind them followed by moments that have such a strong metalcore vibe that it’ll knock you on your but. All the while, the vocals throughout this song keep the heavy instrumentation feeling oddly light making this a perfect pump-up-jam if you’re just not feeling quite like Friday yet.
