My lunch today is super sad. It’s a hastily thrown together Tupperware container of frozen ravioli, jarred pasta sauce and cheese. It’s not glamorous, it’s not great, but it’s something and it’s all I could come up with before leaving the house this morning. Just because my actual lunch is sad does not mean that the soundtrack to my lunch has to be so let’s check out “Not Another Sad Song” from RoyalZoo.

The beginning of this track is truly stunning and I’m not just saying that as a pianist. The amount of emotion that comes through on the pearly whites played during this intro matches the full-hearted vocals that come in to join it. Just when RoyalZoo gets you all cozy and into this ballad-like piano intro, they flip the script completely. In the blink of an eye, this song goes from a tender love song to an over the top and highly energized dance track. Although still piano-driven, the sound of horns takes this song off into this whole new world. Although, overall, this is kind of another sad song, it has a positive twist. It’s a track about focusing onthe good even when everything feels so bad and sad. Throughout this song, I was reminded of Panic at the Disco just due to the musical theatre kind of quality that comes through but I wouldn’t say that this is a deadringer for Panic. There’s something just a bit more dramatic, a bit more upbeat, and just a bit more unique than that. Have a boring lunch planned? Maybe no lunch at all? Spice things up with “Not Another Sad Song” from RoyalZoo now and forever.
