I’ve been forgetting my phone more and more. It’s not on purpose, but it’s a happy little accident, and there are some nights when I don’t even touch my phone until I go to plug it in to charge overnight. It has felt great but it has also made me notice other people on their phones more. It’s kind of insane to see. When there’s nothing to do or nothing to say, we all go straight to our phones. Personally, I don’t think this is a good thing. What happened to spontaneous conversation? What happened to peace and quiet? Honestly, it’s starting to feel more and more true that we are all just machines. Born to work and then die. That’s a dark thought, I know, but I’m not the only one thinking that. I mean, just listen to “No One Is A Human Anymore” from Bush League.
Okay, this song isn’t just about excessive phone use but is about how we all seem to be turning into machines and getting further and further away from the human touch. Clearly, I was already sold on this song with that alone, but the infectious energy that radiates from this quick, one-minute and fifty-three-second song was the icing on the cake. This track is a super fun and fast skate punk kind of song with leanings into something a bit more power pop than not. It’s infectious and catchy but also unique and full of grit and angst. This song is just the beginning for the supergroup that is Bush League, so if you like what you hear, make sure to throw the band a follow on their socials so you don’t miss what comes next from them!
