I am constantly tired and live in a perpetual state of exhaustion. I am also a chronic “People Pleaser” who typically leaves my own well-being in the dust for others. Are these two things related? I mean, the simple answer is yes, but I don’t think I’ve ever thought about that until I heard this amazing song from Of Control.

The catchy and energized pop-punk banger is about just that– the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing. Truthfully, that seems like a bit of a dark subject to me but Of Control makes it bright and bouncy while giving you a song that will instantly get stuck in your head. “People Pleaser” is all about balance. It’s not a super fast song but it’s quick-moving. It’s not an angsty song but there are certain words that cut like a knife through the instrumentation. Of Control showcases the fact that they are absolutely in control of everything when it comes to craft a song but, at the same time, they make sure that emotion is at the forefront. You can tell that this act is calculated with the way everything fits into this song so perfectly but you can also tell that it came naturally. Nothing about this song or what it makes you feel is forced and that’s what makes “People Pleaser” from Of Control such a stand out track.
