I owe Primer & Grayscale a full album review. It’s on my to-do list, but life keeps on getting in the way. I plan on working on the full album review this weekend, but truthfully, I just can not wait until then. I want to get a little sneak peek in by checking out “Earnest’s Law.”

“Earnest’s Law” is about “being stuck in malaise.” At least that’s what the band says. I’ll be honest, I had no clue what “malaise” meant when I read that statement, but, between a quick search on the definition and feeling this song sink down into my soul, I instantly understood. Malaise is the feeling of being out of sorts. That’s a bit ironic because I was just texting a friend about how that’s what I’ve been feeling lately. Of course, this song hit perfectly because of that, but even if I weren’t feeling a sense of malaise, I think this song would still hit me loud and clear. There’s so much emotion here, but also a sense of comforting power that I think we all need a bit more of in this day and age. Primer & Grayscale have this way of making you feel like you’re listening to a pep talk from a best friend or getting a hug from your favorite person through this song, and those are the feelings that I needed this morning. There’s so much more to this song, so much more to this band, but as I mentioned, this is a bit of a teaser for both me and you all until I find the time to check out the full album.
