My mind is all over the place right now. I’m motivated to get work done and am doing just that, but I can feel myself wandering into the dark corners of my thoughts. Full disclosure, I’m going through some personal stuff right now, and I’m doing my best to keep it from consuming me. The only way I know how to do that is to dive headfirst into work and music. For the most part, it’s working, but every once in a while, I feel myself slip. Right now is one of those moments, so I feel like now is a great time to check out “Deeds Define” from Boneripper.
The energy and power of this song is just what the doctor ordered. “Deeds Define” is three and a half minutes of metal perfection. From hardcore to thrash, you get a little bit of everything when it comes to this song, but at the forefront is Boneripper’s distinct power and intensity. There’s nothing hidden about this song. It’s the kind of track that hits you head-on and doesn’t let go of it’s grip on your head until the track is up. Again, just what I needed right now. I feel like I should have so much mroe to say about this song. I should talk about the clean breaks that the band scatters throughout it to give you a second to catch your breath or the dynamics they showcase as they let up on the intensity for a few seconds around the 2:05 mark before plunging you back into their world of power, but truthfully, I just got lost in this song and didn’t want to analyze it. I think just one listen to “Deeds Define” by Boneripper will make it clear.
