Fridays in the summer are rough at my day job. Not because it’s busy, but because it’s dead. By the time Friday rolls around every week, I’m exhausted and use the day job to help keep me awake, but without calls or emails coming in for said day job, staying motivated and on track on Fridays can get rough. I’m determined not to let today be like every other Friday in the summer. I am going to get stuff done, including sharing some of the amazing music that has been shared with me recently, like “When I’m Gone” from Nothing Gold Can Stay featuring Hanne Terweduwe.
“When I’m Gone” is a pop-punk jam through and through. It’s an upbeat song with lyrics that will speak to your emotions. It’s a track about knowing when to stay and when it may be easier to just walk away. I know that it is so much easier said than done, but with this song in your back pocket, I promise that it’ll be a little bit easier than without it. With the help of Hanne Terweduwe from For I Am, there’s a beautiful give and take throughout this song, mirroring the meaning behind it. You can stay, or you can go. You can be sweet, or you can have a little bit of spice. Either way, follow your heart. “When I’m Gone” is the second single from Nothing Gold Can Stay’s upcoming album ‘Solid Ground,’ which is due out later this year. If this song is any indication as to the amount of raw emotion and talent showcased on the album, I’ll be willing to guess that this album is going to be on a bunch of top-end of-the-year lists.
