Girl at the Rock Shows

It’s one of those days where it’s only 9 AM, but I’m already feeling overwhelmed by everything. I’m trying to stay cool, but with every email that hits my inbox, I can feel my anxiety and stress levels rise. Thankfully for me, I’m kicking my day off with “Wolves” from Android Need Heaven, which is about this exact feeling.

The fact that this song was originally written during 2020 but is just now coming out is like a testament to the overall theme of this song. As Android Need Heaven puts it, “‘Wolves’ is about getting lost, feeling overwhelmed, and not being able to see the forest through the trees.” It’s a melodic and energized song full of all of the emotions that come with feeling overwhelmed. There are waves of all kinds of feelings scattered throughout this nearly four-minute-long song that come together to tell the story of, well, life. There are triumphant moments like the times when you see the sun shining through a canopy of leaves, and other moments that feel a bit darker, like those moments when there is no light to be found, even though you are desperately searching for said light. Add in the flawless production and presentation of this song, and you are left with a journey, not just a track.
