Although more of a pop artist than anything, I was hooked by Nadia Vaeh when I heard “R!OT!” Sure, it was poppy, but it had a theatrical element to it and some hidden angst that made it an instant favorite of mine, so I was stoked when Nadia’s name came across my desk again because I knew that, although it would be something a bit out of left field compared to what I typically listen to, it was going to be something amazing.

“Dressing” is an anthem for modern-day. I’m not talking about a personal anthem; I’m talking about a national anthem. As Nadia puts it, this song is about how “America is hungry, over-worked, sick and tired. It’s time to start over.” I mean, truthfully, have you heard anything more real recently? I love how you can feel a sense of exhaustion and just defeat in a way throughout this song, but you can also feel a triumphant energy that comes with a fresh take on an age-old problem and a desire to change it all. Sure, it’s poppy, but I love the message and energy behind this song, and it’s definitely the kind of track that you will want to blast at top volume for the entire world to hear.
