Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ll be honest, the song title here annoyed me, if only because I hate trying to type it without messing up. Sure, I know, copy/paste, but that typically takes longer than typing for me, so I’m just not used to the whole copy/paste thing, and having to type “1MP0573R!” is frustrating. That being said, it’s worth it because I want the world to know about this track.

A dance punk band from Kingston, NY, Cellmate’s sound will instantly catch you. I’ll be honest, I know this isn’t going to be for everyone, but even if, at first listen, you’re not super sold on the overall tone of this song, I urge you to get lost in the controlled chaos behind it. I love how this band has blended an almost noise-adjacent electronic sound with something a bit more garage-rock-sounding and punk-spirited. The way they weave all of these elements together creates that aforemention controlled chaos but also gives you a sound that has some new things that will surely intrigued you, mixed with familiar feelings and sounds. It’s chaos, yes, but it’s the beautiful kind of chaos that will breathe a sense of life into even the sleepiest of souls.
