It’s one of those days where my music ADD is out of control. So far this morning, I have gone down a deep dive into Jamie T’s discography, spent some time with the old-school Drive Thru Records crew and even tried to check out some Sam Smith in preparation for the show tonight. Like I said, out of control so it seems like now is the perfect time to share another new song with ya’ll to see if it can spark some sort of calm in my listening habit for the day if only for a couple of minutes.

It’s as if the music lords are pointing back into that old-school Drive Thru Records binge I just did. “Bleed For You” from My Escape is a total throw back to that time and age. It’s an angsty emo song full of emotion and, well, angst. Even though it definitely has a nostalgic quality to it, there’s something original about the overall composition of this song. Sure, the rises and falls are a bit predictable but My Escape seems to add a little twist to it. With a little hint of that Midwest emo that seems to be all the rage right now, and that dose of Hidden in Plain View styled emotion, “Bleed For You” was just what I needed to send me down a My Escape rabbit hole.
