The Dodo Appreciation Society – “Itchy Willy”

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I feel like a song from a band called ‘The Dodo Appreciation Society’ is the perfect way to start today off. Something about this band name just makes me smile and that smile only grew as I hit play on their song “Itchy Willy”.

The only information given with this song was the line, “All hail the dodo \m/” and, honestly, that’s all I needed. “Itchy Willy” speaks for itself and although this is a short song at only about two and a half minutes long, it packs a punch and lays out this group’s distinct sound and style perfectly. It’s a little math, a little punk, and a whole lot of energy. Somehow this song feels a bit understated at face value. It kind of sounds like there’s not much going on but, as you really let yourself fall into the track, you realize just how much magic is happening. The sound is definitely something different so this may not be for everyone but, even if this isn’t for you, I don’t think you’ll be able to deny the creativity and genius behind “Itchy Willy” so what are you waiting for?
