Cat Valley – “My Body” - Girl at the Rock Shows

Well, I wasn’t able to stick it out all day at work. I ended up leaving about half way through the day, going home, and just passing out. I know that this is a sign that I needed a break but I just have too much to do to continue sleeping all day so after another pot of coffee and some more DayQuil, I feel like I have a much needed burst of energy. Now I just need a new soundtrack to keep me going tonight.

“My Body” from Cat Valley is helping me with that energy. This punky track is so perfect. It has a very old-school vibe to it due to the slight fuzziness of the recording but nothing else about this song is old-school. I’m not going to give away the lyrics but to say they are fresh and much needed for this day and age would be an understatement. This is definitely a political statement of a track but I feel like if you’re reading my blog or following me in general, our political views may somewhat align so don’t let it scare you away. The ferocity of this song only capitalizes the importance of the message behind the track. All in all, this is one of those “shout from the top of a mountain, scream until your lungs give out, and pump your fist” kind of songs so, what are you waiting for? Find the tallest hill nearby, raise your fist, and scream along to “My Body” from Cat Valley!
