Being physically sick but mentally prepared to take on the world has to be one of the worst feelings on the planet. I am so ready to get stuff done and make some waves but, at the same time, I can’t stop sneezing and I feel like my head might explode. I have too much to get done to just sit at home and feel miserable so here I am feeling miserable at the office. Let’s see if some new tunes may help distract my from the sickness starting with “Cold Youth” from Too Close For Comfort.
The amount of nostalgic that comes through loud and clear throughout “Cold Youth” is amazing. It kicks off with a very Blink-182 / State Champs vibe. Infectiously boppy but ridiculously full of heart, it was love at first listen when it came to this song for me. Although I was picking up on the nostalgia that came with the style of music, there was also the irony of the lyrics being about nostalgia. This song is about how nostalgia is not always a great thing especially when it comes to relationships.
Too Close For Comfort is one of those bands that is constantly grinding. You can see that with their tour schedule and the amount of music they are putting out there independently. If their music isn’t enough to get you hooked, their work ethic should be so check these guys out and show them some love.
