I just realized that my best friend is due with her first baby in mere weeks. I’m not sure why that hit me just now but she and I are talking about it and she mentioned that the best thing I could do for her right now would be to distract her. I’m good at that but now I’m realizing I need a distraction too as my mind starts to race with all of the things I have planned for this baby. So it’s time for a distraction and this one is coming in the form of “Hit Eject” from Eyelid Cinema.

Right off the bat, Eyelid Cinema hits you with a solid rock n’ roll riff that absolutely sets the tone for this four and a half minute long song. Although it’s an intense intro, the song quickly falls back into a more post-rock vibe with alt-rock tendencies which keeps the song accessible to anyone who just loves passionate and energetic music. The band is careful with their dynamics and the emotion which I love. It’s a true rollercoaster of a track while having a very cohesive feel to it. The rises and falls are as brilliant as they are drastic. Long story short, this is just one of those solid songs that has left me a bit lost for words but with my ears glued to my speakers.
