Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope your day is off to a good start. I’m still trying to get caught up after being sick for a few days but I’m getting there and feeling good about things so it’s time to start sharing some amazing new music with you starting with “the Steam in the Room” from Storm Boy.
The intensity of this track can be heard right from the beginning but it’s not your standard kind of intensity. Instead of relying on instrumentation to give you a heavy and weighted vibe, the beginning of this track focuses on the intense vocals that are a signature move of Storm Boy. After about a minute, the instrumentation comes in and takes this song off while allowing the lyrics and vocals to guide the song forward. With the energy of IDLES and a sound that is a bit more reminiscent of something like Fugazi meets Sex Pistols, everything about this song is intense and in your face but with it’s own subtleties. All of these things make for a dynamic listen that will surely get your blood pumping no matter how exhausted you are so stop what you’re doing and give “the Steam in the Room” from Storm Boy a listen!
