Have you heard of the band MEAN SEA before? If you answered no, that means you don’t read my blog enough. “Peace and Quiet”, their new track, is also the third track I have shared with you from this amazing band. I try not to play favorites and spread the wealth since I know there are so many amazing bands that deserve attention but every once in awhile, a band hits me just right and I just can’t get enough of them. MEAN SEA is that band right now.

“Peace and Quiet” is a bit more theatrical than the other songs I’ve shared out from MEAN SEA and that’s not a bad thing. This is a track that is absolutely perfect for spooky season but also just such a solid track that it’s good for whenever. Throughout this song, I was reminded of bands like My Chemical Romance and even Billy Talent at some points with the layered vocals but, at other times, I was almost getting a Blood Brother influence or something almost like The Dear Hunter. None of these bands have anything in common which is why the sound of “Peace and Quiet” (and MEAN SEA in general) stands out so much to me. Although I could keep throwing band names out at you that I thought of while listening to this song, it wouldn’t do much help when it came to describing the sound to you so I feel like you should probably just take a listen for yourself and then throw MEAN SEA some love!
