Happy Friday, everyone! It both does and does not feel like a Friday to me. I am absolutely ready for the weekend which means I am flourishing in the thought that it is Friday but, having just a three day week has me beyond stressed out which is making it hard to believe that it is already Friday. Long story short, I’m feeling exhausted, defeated, and stressed and need a song to help snap me out of it. Thankfully, we are starting the day off with “Jessica” from Capesthorne.
Truly, everything about this song is perfect from the energy to the tenderness to the angst. It’s one of those songs that hooks you instantly even though the beginning of the song isn’t outwardly catchy. Capesthorne have a super perfect blend of everything from pop-punk to emo along with a bit more of a commercial background behind it all making this song super accessible but also, again, super full of energy with a slight tinge of angst. “Jessica” is the debut single from this UK based band and it has me so excited to see what the future will hold for this amazing group.
