I’m not sure where time is going today but it’s somehow already almost lunch time and, although I’ve gotten a lot done, it’s just not enough. I need to kick things into high gear and I need a new song to help me do just that which is where “Life Preserver” from Common Crime comes in.
“Life Preserver” is a song about letting go of heartbreak. It’s about finding your own way and being true to yourself even when things are tough. Plainly put, it’s about all of those times when you are trying to find a “Life Preserver” and it’s something we can all relate to at one time or another. Hailing from Philadelphia, Common Crime has a very modern emo meets pop-punk sound. This track in particular really feels like an ode to bands like PUP and The Menzingers but, overall, has a sound that can only be called that of Common Crime. This is a catchy number full of heart and passion that will make you feel all of the things while also bringing you a sense of comfort.
