We all have a person in our lives that flirts with self-destruction. Heck, I feel like it’s safe to say that we have all had moments ourselves when we flirt with the idea. I know I have but I also know I don’t like to talk about it. That’s what makes “Crawl” from Alex Rasmussen such a powerful track that you just absolutely need to hear (and feel) for yourself.

“Crawl” was written for a family member who has wrestled with substance abuse for over a decade and you can feel that with the care that Alex shows with every word and beat. Instead of being a track full of angst and anger, “Crawl” approaches the topic with a raw heart-on-sleeve support that will leave you truly breathless. Whether or not you can relate to the self-destruction flirting that this song is about, “Crawl” will hit you right in the feelings. Alex’s voice is smooth but it has so much depth to it that I just can’t find the right words to describe it accurately. Add the minimalistic yet perfectly curated instrumentation that dances in the background of this track and you are left with a truly stunning piece of art.
