I feel like I have really been gravitating towards pop-punk bangers lately. If you know me in real life, this will come as no surprise because, at the end of the day, I am nothing more than a pop-punk princess but I do feel like I need to apologize to those who don’t know me. I strive myself on having an eclectic mix of music on this site and subsequent playlists. With that being said, I just can’t help myself right now. I won’t apologize for sharing out yet another pop-punk banger coming to you in the form of “Waking Up” from Long Gone.

In true pop-punk fashion, this song starts off with the perfect vocal-only kind of intro before upbeat and bright instrumentation shoots this track into the ethers. If you know who State Champs is, then it won’t be a surprise to you when I say that this track was co-produced by Derek DiScanio of the band. I say this because “Waking Up” has a very “State Champs vibe” behind it. At the same time, there’s a feel-good energy behind this track that can only be described as that of Long Gone. “Waking Up” is anthemic and powerful and truly a track that will make you, well, “Wake Up” so what are you waiting for? Turn that volume knob all the way up and let “Waking Up” from Long Gone get you in the best headspace ever.
