Girl at the Rock Shows

I’m frantic today. I honestly can’t tell you why. Something set me off the second I woke up and I just can’t shake it right now. That being said, I need to shake it. Not only am I getting slaughtered with work, my dad and stepmom are in town tonight and I’ll be taking one of my little cousins to a concert with my brother and his wife. I can’t be frantic and manic for all of that family time so let’s see if checking out some new music can soothe my soul.

“Lamb” hit me quick and it hit me hard. This song is actually about struggles. It’s about the struggle of restless nights, heavy thoughts, the battle of dark and light. Yeah, this felt a bit too poignant for my heart to handle but, at the same time, created the perfect outlet for whatever dark energy is trying to take me over right now. This song is calm and full of lush soundscapes but there’s an edge to it. That edge comes through Leebo Freeman’s vocals and the way each note played seems to emphasize a certain word or thought. the dynamics throughout this song are as crushing as they are haunting. Add this slight sense of vivid imagery and poeticism that is hidden throughout “Lamb” and you are left with a song that will leave you speechless.
