I’m having a rough day. I blame the super late night last night and my current huge workload. Although it’s rough, I know it’s only temporary and I can only do what I can do to get through today and hope tomorrow is a better day. Temporary. So it feels only appropriate to check out “Through and Through” from Temporary Drag right now because this band name is speaking to me so hard right now.

Temporary Drag is the new project of Scott Scharinger, the ex-guitarist and singer from Dads. I’ve actually heard Dads’ music before and I love that I can get a little bit of that flavor in this song while hearing Scott’s evolution as a musician at the same time. This song has a slight 90s alt-rock vibe to it along with a hint of an 80s feeling a bit like The Cure. On top of all of that, you still get a slight emo influence that comes through in the soft but deep vocals that drive this song forward. Add some dazzling guitar work, solid drums and bass, and a catchy but not too catchy chorus and you are left with the kind of song that brings you so much peace even if you’re having a rough day. My rough day may only be temporary by my love for Temporary Drag is anything but that after hearing “Through and Through”.
