Everything about the band name The Slime and song title “Velociraptor” has me thinking B horror movie. That’s not a bad thing. Although I hate horror as, truthfully, life is scary enough, I’m a sucker for a good ol’ fashioned B horror movie. Although movies like this often come off as campy and a bit over the top, there’s nothing cheesy or dramatic about this track. That’s right, this intro has really nothing to do with this song but don’t let that stop you from checking out this powerful little jam.

“Velociraptor” is a single from The Slime’s brand new album ‘Crab-Walk to Oblivion’ (cue another image of a B horror movie). This song is fierce and brutal. It’s the kind of song that plunges you under water within the first few seconds and never lets you up for air. That sounds terrible but it’s a good thing when it comes to this song. The lyrics of this song are inspired by Jurassic Park which, honestly, I have never seen so I can’t expand on that but this song is not about the lyrics for me. It’s the sheer brutality and chaos that reigns supreme throughout this quick song and how The Slime never loses control even with the insanity. “Velociraptor” is loud, it’s abrasive, and it’s perfect.
