Girl at the Rock Shows

Although I’m definitely more of a pop-punk and metal leaning kind of gal, I have a few guilty pleasures and G. Love is one of them. There’s just something about G. Love that I can not get enough of so, when I saw his name come across my email in conjunction with Sitting on Saturn’s new song “Rose Colored Glasses,” I couldn’t wait to dig in and see what the track was all about.

In true G. Love style, “Rose Colored Glasses” instantly hits you with a wave of positivity as the track starts. It’s bright and sunny, but that’s not just because of G. Love; it’s because of Sitting on Saturn. This southern California trio has a brilliant bubblegum pop kind of sound that matches the energy of G. Love so perfectly, making this an ear-catching and smile-inducing kind of song. I really can not understate the brightness that this song can bring to your day. It’s honestly a bit overcast here in Minneapolis this morning, but as soon as this song started playing, it was as if the sun was shining right on me, and I could feel and smell the salty ocean spray against my face. This song is about falling in love, which, I know, is a bit cliche, but what this trio, with the help of G. Love, does with the lyrical content of this track is charming, to say the least. Looking for that feel-good kind of song to get your Thursday started right? This is the ticket!
