I’m crabby today. It’s not for any reason other than just one of those days. I so badly wish I could close the door to my office and ignore everything happening around me, but that’s not an option, so I need to pull on my big girl pants and just deal with it. But, man, this is rough. I honestly shouldn’t take the time to check out new music today as work just keeps piling up but it’s all I want to do so let’s take a quick breather and see if “Love Me Away” from Pseudopomp can change my mood.
The beginning of this track is not particularly heavy yet it’s somehow ridiculously catchy. A strong bass line kicks things off as the vocals come in and start creating a swirling motion of sounds throughout this track. That motion continues for the entirety of this nearly four-minute song, but you get rises and falls of intensity and grungey angst thrown in there to help highlight all of the intricacies of this track. I love how this song is super energized but there’s something almost eerie and soft about some of the vocals. They sweep into this song like smoke but, again, with moments of intensity and slight anger that really add to the overall power of this track. “Love Me Away” is the first of three singles that are lined up for release from Pseudopomp so, if you like what you hear here, throw this amazing London-based duo a follow so you don’t miss any of their other new tracks.
