Sometimes, it’s hard to believe when people say that a certain musical endeavor started as nothing more than a bedroom project. Honestly, I don’t believe it one bit when it comes to Mascot Graveyard because one of their first songs, “Caught Up In The Webbing,” is so dang good.
Okay, to say that I don’t believe that Mascot Graveyard started as a bedroom project is a lie. You get a very emotional and raw vibe from this entire song which definitely could be rooted in a more private bedroom project but it’s what this four-piece does that really brings the bedroom project to life. This song is powerful and sweet. It’s sensitive but intense at the same time. There’s definitely an influence of bands like Touche Amore and La Dispute in this stunning track, but there’s also something a bit more standard pop-punk like Hot Mulligan or Name Taken (throwback right there, I know). All of these elements come together to form “Caught Up In The Webbing”– a song that will surely catch your attention and leave you super excited to see what comes next for this amazing up and coming band from Brighton, UK.
