Honestly, I should be feeling stressed and manic with the amount of work that I have yet to do today and how behind I am on everything in general, but something is keeping me cool, calm, and collected. Knock on wood, but I love this feeling. I feel free, motivated, and not stressed. I feel accomplished, but I also feel like I have so much more to prove. Long story short, I feel good and am ready to celebrate this feeling by taking a little breather and checking out another new song today.
“Deserve” from Bluedive tastes bitter. I know you can’t taste music, but I think you’ll understand what I mean as soon as you hit play on this three-minute and fifteen-second bop. It’s an intense song that starts off with an almost math-focused guitar part that feels oddly calm but, as the show moves on, frustration grows and, eventually, that frustration turns into that bitter taste I mentioned. This song is about the end of a co-dependent relationship but you didn’t need me to tell you that. Bluedive lays it all out perfectly while also giving you the freedom to apply this song to any aspect of your life that you want. The words, like poetry, are open for interpretation as it is the overall vibe that you get from this song. I may taste bitter, but you may taste rejuvenation, maybe even triumph. Take a listen, and you tell me what this song tastes like to you. I know one thing we will all have in common after checking out “Deserve” from Bluedive is that we will be left with the taste for more songs from this amazing band.
