My new cat is getting neutered today. I know that’s no big deal and to say that it’s a routine procedure would be an understatement but I’m worried about him. Less than a week ago, he was nothing more than another stray. Now he’s in a house complete with two humans and three other cats. He had what was probably his first-ever bath last night (which I know traumatized the fuck out of him), and is now spoiled rotten by comfy cat beds scattered all over the house and toys upon toys strewn across the floors. I’m hoping he’s doing okay and that he doesn’t hate me for this as much as he did for the bath last night. I need something to keep my mind from worrying so let’s take a little breather and check out some more new music.

The Marvelous Acceptance doesn’t give you a chance to ease into their new song “New Boyfriend” (featuring Jordan Alexander), they just go for it. A panicked and chaotic instrumental intro brings you into the Marvelous Acceptance’s world before the vocals ushers you into a very nostalgia-fueled yet fresh feeling emo-based song. I love how the vocals throughout this song (but especially in the chorus) have a more pop-punk almost pop leaning tone to them but the hectic instrumentation happening and the amount of passion that comes through with every word keeps this from feeling just pop-punk. I could start listing off all of the bands that this song reminds me of but it would it sound a bit nutty because the list would consist of everything from My Chemical Romance to The Audition. If you’re looking for a fresh take on a modern sound with an epic breakdown to top if all off, “New Boyfriend” from The Marvelous Acceptance (featuring Jordan Alexander) is the song for you!
