Girl at the Rock Shows

I started my day off with a soft ball. It was a bounce little track to help get myself out of my own head and into work. Now that I’m buried in work, it’s time for a song where I can get some of my pent up aggression out and “Bated Breath” is the perfect track for that.

There are many highlights in this track from epic breakdowns to a stunning guitar solo but, really, this entire song is a highlight. It starts off tender before both Last Night of Solace and Villain of the Story hit you with their intense brand of brutality. There’s emotion, there’s power, and there’s perfectly crafted breakdowns that will fill you with such a sense of energy– “Bated Breath” has it all. I’ll be honest, some of the more sung parts aren’t quite for me as, when I want heavy music, I want it to be pure heaviness, but, at the same time, I love the juxtaposition that can be felt throughout this song. It’s a dynamic and wild ride that only lasts three and a half minutes but will leave you with your seatbelt still buckled and ready for more.
