I know it’s so cliche at this point, but today feels like “just another manic Monday,” and I’m already slightly over it. It’s only 9 in the morning, but it has been nothing but putting out fire after fire for me, and I’m just ready to be done. I need to change my headspace and get out of this negative mentality because it’s no way to start a week off, so let’s see if checking out some new music can help.
Digging Graves is a new trio from Sweden, and their new track “Disarm” is definitely turning some heads, including my own. The first single from their upcoming album, ‘United In a State of Lunacy,’ is heavy and intense but stays clear of reaching the world of chaos so perfectly. Like the band says, you can call it punk, call it rock, call it post-hardcore or whatever you want, Digging Graves has a sound that makes you stop whatever you are doing and listen. From their crystal clear yet perfectly in-your-face vocals to the chugging and heavy instrumentation, I love that you can hear all kinds of influences throughout this three minute song while being able to call this song “Digging Graves-styled” and “Digging Graves-styled” only. Like I mentioned, Digging Graves is a new band but, judging off of this single, I definitely think there will be a lot more to come from the perfectly heavy and flawlessly curated Swedish band.
