And just like that, with one email, my day with from crap to crappy crap crap. Maybe it’s just one of those days, maybe one of those weeks but I want nothing more than to go home right now, lay on the couch for a hot minute, and just re-set for the day. That’s not an option as I still have hours of work in front of me. Checking out a single this morning helped change my mindset if only for a bit so here’s to hoping that checking out another new song can change things around again for me.

“Coat of Arms” is the latest single from Mum and Dad Talk To Animals and it is truly a stunner. It’s an emo song through and through but with a little extra razzle dazzle of everything from post-punk to melodic hardcore. I love the energy in this song but I love the attention to detail even more. There’s a soft beginning and a super soft ending to this song but what happens between there is nothing short of full of life, energy and angst. Not only are the lyrics of this song super raw and vulnerable, I love the way that Mum and Dad Talk To Animals somehow harness that energy and feeling into the way they present the instrumentation throughout this song. Whether you need to get lost in something to reset your mind or you just want to get lost in a different world for a couple of minutes, I highly suggest checking out “Coat of Arms” from Mum and Dad Talk To Animals.
