My day started off light with some just good ol’ fashioned alt-rock but I’m ready to pump it up a wee bit. “Falling Down” from Run The Riot is perfect for that. Although a solid rock song through and through, I instantly picked up on the subtle and not-so-subtle metalcore influences that are sprinkled throughout this song.

The energy that comes through in “Falling Down” is palpable. The pace is fast and furious but there’s something about the pop-punk influence of this song that keeps it from feeling too chaotic or even too in your face. That being said, there’s a sense of aggression in this song that I instantly latched onto. Think Four Year Strong or The Story So Far, I loved the life that this song breathed into me throughout the three minutes and ten seconds that it lasted. Another thing I really like in this song is everything is crsytal clear. Even when the vocals take a turn for a more straight up metal tone, you can clearly hear and understand everything happening in this song. “Falling Down” is an instant classic which will make Run The Riot an instant favorite. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself.
