I adore the combination of the phrases “Don’t worry” and “Middle Finger.” Although they don’t necessarily go hand in hand like other phrases, these two together give me a very IDGAF kind of vibe (that stands for “I Don’t Give A F*$&” for those elders in my audience). I love it, and honestly, it’s an attitude I’m trying to utilize more often. Although I’m not a control freak in my mind, I do like to be in charge of everything that goes on around me (or, as my boyfriend and close friends may say– a control freak) so this has been a hard thing to learn but Don’t Worry’s song is definitely helping me!

I was expecting a super strong song based off of the song title here and, although there is strength in this single, it’s not as blatant as I was expecting. Honestly, this song comes off as oddly tender and sensitive but the intensity comes through in the word choice. It’s as if Don’t Worry knew what I needed to hear message-wise because this song is, as the band puts it, “a song about acknowledging that even when life goes the way you want it to some of the time, it’ll never go the way you want it to all of time, and that’s ok.” What are the odds, right?! There’s a maturity in this song that spoke to my thirty-something soul, but there’s also an almost dreamlike whimsy in this song that creates a super lush backdrop for the vocals to soar in front of. Long story short, this song, like life and learning lessons in life, is full of layers, and every layer is more beautiful than the last.
