I don’t have a quirky intro for you right now. There’s just nothing happening other than me frantically trying to get caught up on all of the jobs and all of the emails. What I do have for you is an insanely amazing single that is worth your attention so, even if you’re like me and having a bit of a manic day, I highly suggest you take a break to check out “I Love Myself” from Thank Youth.

As the title may lead you to believe, this is a self-care kind of song. It’s a track about loving yourself, flaws and all. It’s a story of lead singer Tyler Wilson’s journey through sobriety and subsequent relapse in his life. I particularly like this song because it’s not all optimistic like many self-love tracks are. This song features moments of angst and anger, and I love how that reflects a genuine self-love journey. There are ups and downs throughout a journey like this, and I think that Thank Youth added an undeniable sense of power by letting that element leak into this song. Add the infectious energy and the catchy anthemic rock aura that comes with “I Love Myself” and you will surely fall in love with this track Thank Youth in general. Unfortunately, this is the group’s debut single and all that’s out there right now but I think it’s safe to assume that there is more to come from this explosive band.
