I thought today was going to be one of those days where I had all of the time in the world to check out new music. It’s already almost lunchtime and I have only had time to dig into one. That dosn’t mean today is a bad day. Truthfully, it’s been pretty good and, other than a few hiccups with the day job and mistakes that I had to clean up, I’m feeling optimistic and ready for the rest of the day to be just as productive as the beginning but I did want to take a great breather before diving back into work to share out “DIVE” from ARKTA with you.

ARKTA claims that “DIVE” is a festival-ready anthem which I felt was a super bold statement but I picked up on what they were saying within the first thirty seconds of this song. With an electronic sound and heavy beat, this song instantly made the ground shake in a way. There’s so much power and sound at the beginning that it’s hard not to imagine this song vibrating through sun-soaked festival grounds. Although an intense song with some metal and punk leaning tendencies, I love how this song is, overall, a pop song with angsty highlights and extreme lowlights. It’s a cool blend of very contrasting sounds and I love how ARKTA is able to combine them so seamlessly. There were moments that reminded me a bit of Enter Shikari just with the unique blend but, at the end of the song, you realize that the journey that is “DIVE” can only be described as ARKTA and that’s what makes it so memorable.
