Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ve never seen the movie ‘Gone Girl’ so the fact that this was from Liv Bec was inspired by the “Cool Girl” monologue from ‘Gone Girl’ means nothing to me. That being said, I still love this song through and through.

“EASY!” has such an attitude and swagger behind it that it’s the kind of song that will make you stop whatever you’re doing and pay attention to it. That being said, there’s not the sense of aggression that you may think would have to come with a song like that. Honestly, this song stays fairly cool and breezy but there’s just something subtly angsty about the storyline of this song that talks about the type of woman that men seem to want these days. As the song suggests, they want someone easy, not high-maintenance or challenging. What a crock of shit, right? I love that Liv Bec has taken this almost depressing and discouraging topic and has made it into such an “EASY!” to listen to kind of track.
