Girl at the Rock Shows

I know that we are far from spooky season, but, honestly, does spooky really even need a season? I’m all about creepy things and have recently gotten sucked back into the world of ghost hunting shows. I know we all have strong opinions on these kinds of shows, and I’ll be the first to admit that I watch them through a pair of skeptical-hued glasses, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying them. It seemed only fitting that, with this current re-visited obsession, we check out a song to match so let’s give “GHOST” from HOWRU? a listen, shall we?

This song starts with an abrasive sound before you get to hear HOWRU?’s signature emo-rock style. I love the way that it grabs your attention and sets the tone for this song about being haunted but also how it doesn’t quite prepare you for what’s to come. This song, in particular, was giving me all of the Panic at the Disco drama vibes with a bit more of a My Chemical Romance lingering in the background. Sure, this is a dark song with an almost sinister set of words attached to it, but HOWRU? has taken this creepiness and turned it into something perfectly infectious and absolutely danceable. Add in the video that just seems to highlight the theme of this song being about being haunted and the fight that comes with that feeling, and you are left with pure perfection for all my spooky season followers and anyone who just likes good music.
