Honestly, I don’t have a quirky intro for you. I probably won’t have one for many of the songs I share with you this morning. It’s just one of those days where I am trying to find things that bring me joy while the world goes insane, and that thing is new music, so let’s just keep on trucking and check out “Overreacted” from Modus Fire.
We all live with regrets. We all have those moments where, when looking back, we realize that we “Overreacted.” That’s what this song is about, and I love the way that Modus Fire is able to put this slightly helpless and super angsty feeling into a song that is as aggressive as it is fun. Modus Fire has a super fun blend of genres in their song. From straight-up punk to ska horns and even with a dash of dramatic vocals that almost feel worthy of a Broadway musical, “Overreacted” is the kind of song that hooks you right away and never lets go throughout the nearly four minutes that it lasts. “Overreacted” is the third single from Modus Fire’s upcoming debut LP, ‘The Weary & The Wise’, which will be out on July 18th. I know that it kind of feels like the end of times right now with everything going o,n but at least we have this debut album to look forward to because, if “Overreacted” is any indication, it very well could be one of the top albums of the year.
