It’s Fourth of July week so why not take a listen to a song about sparks. Okay, that’s not the reason that I want you to check out “Electric Chemistry” from Hot Head but it’s just one of those coincidences that feels a bit too perfect to not point out. I’m also stretching for an intro right now (can you tell) so I’ll just stop before I get ahead of myself.
“Electric Chemistry” from Hot Head is a song, as mentioned, about sparks. As the band puts it, “Electric Chemistry” was inspired by the static energy formed when you come into contact with another person of an opposite charge.” I love the way you can feel that “spark” throughout this song. There’s something super nostalgic and ’90s about the carefree nature of this song, but don’t let that fool you. As this two-and-a-half-minute song plays, you get a sense of depth that I wasn’t quite expecting at the beginning of the track. By the time I had finished listening to “Electric Chemistry” for the first time, I couldn’t help but go back and do it all over again and again and again. Whether you want to get lost in the depth of this super fun track or fall in love with the almost Masked Intruder-esque sound, Hot Head will absolutely be your new favorite after just one listen to “Electric Chemistry.”
