I don’t know where the time went this weekend but it’s already Monday again. I’m not super thrilled about it as I feel like I didn’t get nearly as much done this weekend as I had hoped to but I am excited for a week full of new music ahead of us so why delay. Let’s jump right into the week and kick it off with “PPL PLZR” from winterwell.
“PPL PLZR” is only the third song from winterwell, but it feels like a track from a band that has been doing their thing for ages. It’s a tight song that comes full of emotion and angst like any good early 2000s emo-leaning post-hardcore track would. The lyrical content of this song is so perfect for a sleepy Monday. It’s about living life on your own terms, doing what you love, and fueling your heart with passion, rather than unintentionally living. Again, absolutely perfect for a Monday. I love the desperation that comes through in the delivery of the message here because, truthfully, I feel like we all get a bit desperate to live life on our own terms. From the intensity to the emotional power, winterwell has absolutely nailed it all with “PPL PLZR” and I can’t wait to hear what else this band has up their sleeves.
