I’m crabby today. It’s not a bad day but I feel like, just when I start getting super into something and getting somewhere as far as getting caught up after the weekend is concerned, I get pulled into a different fire. That’s just Monday, I know, but it has me crabby on a day when I promised myself that I wouldn’t be crabby so it’s time to take a break and re-set. This break is being brought to you by “Truth/Lie” from Citizen Rat and it’s truly one of the best breaks I’ve had in awhile.

This heavy-hitting song is explosive and intense in all of the right ways. It instantly reminded me of Refused, but had a bit more of a raw and slightly more light-hearted energy behind it. That could have been due to the fun shown in the video, but, regardless, it’s a song that caught my mind and heart simultaneously. It’s a song that talks about the complexity between reality and perception and how those two worlds play off of each other. If you think about it too hard, your mind will go down such a dark and twisted path, so I love the fact that Citizen Rat has made this often doomy and gloomy thought into such an infectiously catchy track. Whether you want to go down that dark and twisty path or just need a song to reset your body, mind, and soul, “Truth/Lie” from Citizen Rat (and Citizen Rat in general) will absolutely do the trick.
