Other than being extremely busy, today has been a good day thus far, and it has me in the mood to live in a pop-punk-drenched world. Thankfully for me, this is a genre that is seeing a resurgence, and bands like Borderlines are taking me down nostalgia lane while also giving me a breath of fresh air. Case in point- Borderlines’ new track “Fall for You.”

Everything about this song is fun from the infectious hook to the satirical lyrics about two neighbors with, as the band puts it, “a questionable relationship”. I love that Borderlines doesn’t take themselves too seriously in this song and clearly has fun with their nostalgic pop-punk vibe, but at the same time, presents every infectious note and angsty word with a sense of perfection. I just got done talking about how everything pretty much sucks in this world right now, so it was fun to have at least three and a half minutes of pure fun and nostalgia bliss as I listened to this song. At the same time, it gave me so much hope for the future of the pop-punk scene. There’s no way that pop-punk can be dead when you have bands like Boderlines putting out gems like “Fall for You.”
