I got nothing for you right now. Honestly, it’s been one of those typical manic Monday mornings, but I’m doing an okay job of keeping my head above water and am ready for a little “treat yo self” moment, but spending a couple of minutes with another new song.
Although I’m in a good headspace right now, I am a person who suffers from the feeling of burnout. Although I try not to let it take over myself, it feels absolutely inescapable at times, and that’s why “To Me, for Me” from TV Therapy hit me so hard this morning. The last track on their debut EP, “To Me, for Me,” dives a bit deeper into the indie rock side of this band rather than the punk vibe that they often give off, but don’t let that lead you to believe that this song is lacking in energy or grit. The energy and grit of this song, which deals with the feeling of burnout, addiction, and, as the band puts it, “the quiet collapse happening behind closed doors,” is absolutely flawless. I love how it can either help you out of a mental rut you may have found yourself stuck in right now, or be a shoulder to lean on, and the comfort that comes from knowing you’re not alone. Long story short, “To Me, for Me” from TV Therapy is truly worth your time and attention.
