It’s been a hot minute since EĐĐIE’s name has come across my desk, so seeing it this morning brought a giant smile across my face. Although the music of EĐĐIE is definitely a bit more commercial-leaning than I tend to go, there’s something about him that I just can not get enough of, and I think that starting my day off with his new single “Insecure” is the best way to go this morning.
This song is about falling in love for the first time, about a tough breakup, and all of the insecurities that come with it. Honestly, I can’t relate to that sentiment. I’ve been in a committed relationship for years now and have no plans of breaking up with the guy. What’s crazy about “Insecure” is that, although I cannot relate to the story behind this song, I still relate to the song. It’s soft and sweet, yet warm and cozy at the same time. It’s the kind of sweet song made for a rom-com movie, but a cool indie one featuring Zach Braff (okay, I’m showing my age there). Jokes and wisecracks aside, this song is just one of those easy-breezy kinds of songs that is so easy to get lost in and acts as the perfect little breather if you, like me, are already having a heck of a Wednesday morning.
