Girl at the Rock Shows

I’ve never hitchhiked but I’m pretty sure that I would be lousy at it. It just doesn’t seem like something that such an introverted and shy person could be good at. This has nothing to do with “No Clue” from The Lousy Hitchhikers outside of their band name but it’s something fun to think about, right? Almost as fun as this single is.

“No Clue” is about starting a new job without any legitimate training. Although I can’t relate to this personally, as I’ve had the same job for over ten years, I appreciate that the chorus can be applied to life in general. “I got no clue what I’m doing, but I’m doing it anyway!” I mean, come on, we can all relate to that. The angsty garage-rock style of this track effectively emphasizes the message. It’s rough and raw, yet perfect, and something that’s easy to get lost in. “No Clue” is the perfect song for those days when you are feeling overwhelmed but also want to be productive. It’s a burst of energy in the form of a swift kick in the butt, but also comforting because you quickly realize that you aren’t the only one who really has no clue what they’re doing. The Lousy Hitchhikers don’t know either, but they sure know how to make a catchy little bop like this one.
