Girl at the Rock Shows

My body my be at work today but my mind is absolutely already at Riot Fest in Chicago. I’m excited for it and, although the stress of trying to get everything done before I leave is lingering in the back of my mind, I’m just straight-up excited for the weekend to be here. I am continuing my search of amazing music to help soundtrack the drive down there and “Apart And Old Wishes” from Left over definitely just snagged a spot on that list.

Don’t let the light and fluffy, twenty-two-second intro of this song fool you, Left over has a strong sound that will absolutely evoke a strong sense of emotion from you. This track is the epitome of emo and definitely took me back to the days of A Thorn For Every Heart and My American Dream. The track is raw with vocals where you can literally feel aggression and pain dripping from every syllable. At the same time, there’s a delicacy to this song that balances everything out so perfectly. Whether you want to get sad for a couple of minutes, get lost in your feelings, or just have a throwback to when things were a wee bit more simple, “Apart And Old Wishes” from Left over will hit the spot.
