I was getting so much done this morning and was feeling so energized and ready to keep going, but it’s like a switch just flipped, and I’m starting to feel the terrible sleep I got catch up with me. I can’t let it win. I still have so much to do and a few hours left of work before I can go home. Let’s hope that “Pedestal” from Watersdeep helps me get my motivation back.

The opening line of this song instantly shocked me back to life. The vocals that start “Pedestal” out are aggressive and commanding, welcoming you to the world of relentless energy that is Watersdeep. If you don’t like heavy music, I would totally understand you skipping this song, but I urge you to give it a chance before you do. After a little bit of heaviness, the vocals of this band come in and bring a sense of tenderness to the track. It’s still heavy, and the instrumentation behind the vocals keeps this song in the metalcore vein of things, but there’s something about the vocals that changes it all. That’s not the only twist and turn in this song. At just over four minutes, Watersdeep has a few other surprises in store for you when it comes to “Pedestal,” but I’m not going to ruin it for you. Check it out and be sure to show this band some love!
