There are a lot of gems in the local Twin Cities music scene but very few shine as bright as Kiss the Tiger. Not only does this band have an insanely cool and fresh sound, they are made up of some of the nicest people around. So yeah, you could say I’m a little bias here but, really, this band and their new song “We Don’t Fight Anymore” absolutely deserve your attention today (and every day).
This song is the epitome of an alt-rock anthem. It kicks off with Kiss the Tiger’s super-strong vocals courtesy of Meghan Kreidler, but it doesn’t take the band long to come in and join those vocals, creating an inescapable and infectious song. There’s not a sense of angst here, but there is still a slight aggression in some of the lines of words. That doesn’t mean this is an aggressive song, far from it. It more just means that this band (and this song in particular) is so full of energy that it’s impossible not to pick up on some of that when listening to the track. Add in the charm that comes with watching this band perform in the black and white video that accompanies the song, and you are left with an easy-to-hear-and-see explanation as to why Kiss the Tiger is truly one of the best local bands out there right now, here in the Twin Cities.
